Certainly certain about uncertainities

Certainly Certain...

Rescue operation at the site
Guess what! I have been thinking of so many things going around me. The sudden downfall of our famous citylight hotel, had the people known about its occurrence would they step in. None of us would ever dare to do such a feat. But to the surprise of those poor souls who lost their lives in fraction of minutes as the rubble fell on them. May they all rest in peace..

City Light Hotel undeniably brought to light so many things about the still existing dilapidated buildings in the vicinity. For me it brought a message of uncertainty of certain things. I may be certain of accomplishing many tasks but uncertain of its accomplishment. This is our human nature.

What is your CHOICE

Holy week is here...

I am...
We are called more and more to reflect upon the passion of Christ. The journey of Christ through this painful journey was not an easy but he chose to tread upon. I wonder at the composed and calm approach of Jesus to accept this way of dying. He did express the difficulty of this path, "I am deeply troubled..." he said once to the apostles, He also said "Father, if possible let this cup pass away, but let not my will but thy will be done.

In all hi human nature he accepted the will of the Father lovingly, "No one forces, I lay down my life and I can come back to life" said Jesus. A perfect Man and God who showed the power of will and freedom.

In this world of number of options for everything and at every point we are not just thrown in a situation, there is a choice given to us. Jesus chose the best path for our redemption. What is your choice today????

Life Unending

LIFE UNENDING

It was on a Tuesday and it was not on next ,
at the dusk it was and at the dawn it is gone!
what is it?
Life!!!!

How can it happen that I see person today and he is no more the next day.
The mystery of life and death baffled me..
The shock was spine chilling to hear a far cousin(Benedict) of mine
who passed away early in the morning  of (15th July).
He had earlier underwent an open heart operation a day before .
I only thought he would revive once again. but it happened not what I wished.
He who was warm and hopeful has now slept in peace.
The pleasant smile on his face is vanished never to come again.
He who was always on the move is now silent without any movement.

Why  is death so cruel?
Why does it show no mercy on all?
neither young nor old, neither man nor women.
NO ONE is spared from its reach.
DEATH is always a shock, a puzzle, a mystery, an unanswerable question of life.
I knew all this about the mystery of death but the hardest part is to accept it when it comes.
I am not afraid of it but remain puzzled to see it arriving in others.
Death has now become for me a constant shadow following me and every living thing.

But am comforted with the promise of Jesus "Life unending"
Even though death lurks at the doorstep it loses the Battle
Coz The author of life had won over death.
Death is not the end of life but change of life
life on earth makes its transition to life in heaven
I believe in the truth for Christ is truth!
I am assured that Christ makes a room for each
and hopeful that Mr. Benedict will get one.

I second St. Paul and ask the question,
O DEATH, WHERE IS THY STING!!!

jehovah witness defeat

Jehovah's Witnesses utterly defeated on 1914 teaching.
Recently, I've been looking into why the Jehovah's Witnesses are so fascinated by the year 1914AD. It turns out, they claim they predicted when Christ would return again by accurately "interpreting" Bible prophecy, and the date for that was October 1914AD. Further, by getting this "right," they claim God rewarded their WatchTower Society with being His official Spokesmen for mankind. Obviously, a lot is riding on this date, and if it goes, so does the entire foundation of their religion.

If the WatchTower speaks for God, then a JW will listen to them before they listen to a non-JW on any doctrine, which is why it is always an up-hill battle when discussing any doctrine with them. Also, they are constantly facing the threat of being shunned by all their family and friends if they question the Society, so it's safer not to, and this added level of "security" keeps them in line. It's a sad thing to think about.

Anyway, if the 1914 Doctrine can be undermined, then there goes all the credibility of the WT, and thus the whole religion will be sunk. While most people focus on the false predictions that took place in 1914, I can't find a single Catholic apologetics article discussing the actual calculations behind 1914! Here is what I found, and why it's so devastating. The following link will take you to a major JW theology book called "What Does the Bible Really Teach," I will focus on Appendix 10 which explains the calculations behind 1914AD. Now I will show the following "steps" they take to reach 1914AD:
Luke 21:24 says Jerusalem will be trampled on by Gentiles until the "appointed times" are fulfilled, then Christ will become King.
This "trampling" began in 607 BC, when Jerusalem was conquered by the Babylonians.
Daniel chapter 4 records a vision of a kingdom being cut down for a period of "seven times," then restored.
Revelation 12:6,14 says "three and a half times" equals 1,260 days.
To get "seven times" you double "three and a half times," resulting in 2,520 days.
But since nothing happened 2,520 days after 607BC, so the "days" must really represent years.
Using Num 14:34 & Eze 4:6, which speak of “a day for a year,” we get 2,520 years.
Doing the math: 607BC + 2,520 = 1914AD.
That's the logic, plain and simple. This can be found all over JW literature, and any JW you ask will tell you this very information.

Now I'm sure that if a Catholic Apologist at CAF would look at this they could tear this logic to shreds without any difficulty. The logic and interpretations are so faulty that they can be knocked down various ways. Here are some examples:
Luke 21:24 is speaking of a future catastrophe that will take place, not one that has been on going since 607BC. The captivity of 607BC was long over with, and the Jews had already long built the Second Temple. The Haydock Commentary on Luke 21:24 gives a very clear and concise Catholic interpretation.
Luke 21:24 says nothing about Christ being installed as King - plus Jesus was already King long before 1914AD.
The date 607BC for Babylon conquering Jerusalem is not derived from Scripture, since Scripture doesn't record time in that manner. Not even secular historians accept this date (but rather 586BC), and it's all guess work anyway based on the unreliable and scant secular historical records available. No Christian should base their salvation on such 'data' and educated guesses.
Daniel 4 (read it!) says nothing about the Jews or anything related. It is explicitly and strictly talking about the King of Babylon, Nebuchadnezzar, who loses his kingdom and gets it back. Nothing more. The "seven times" mentioned are totally unrelated to Luke 21 and any other such event.
Revelation 12:6,14 does say "3.5 times" is "1,260 days," but there is no evidence it can be or is applied to Daniel 4. Further, Daniel 12:7,11 says "3.5 times" is equal to "1,290 days," a whole 30 days longer, yet the JWs ignore this for obvious reasons. In short: the Bible is not a secret-code book!
Revelation 11:2-3 speaks of a time when the Gentiles will trample Jerusalem, and uses the same Greek word for "trample" as Luke 21:24. But 11:2 says this trampling would last 42 months and equates this to 1,260 days, making the JW calculations off by half! Of course, they ignore this as well.
Since "nothing happened" after 2,520 days, the JWs jump to the conclusion these "days" must really represent "years." That's ridiculous. It means they will "keep trying" until they make this (already wrong) number mean something. Further, Num 14:34 & Eze 4:6 are not speaking prophetically, but rather in a specific case, not to be applied at will.
The final calculation...607BC + 2,520 = 1914AD...is a blatant math error! The years 607BC and 1914AD are Roman Years, while 2,520 is Jewish Years. It's adding the wrong units! It's like adding "2feet + 3meters = 5feet." The Roman calendar is 365days/year while the JewishBiblical Year is 360days/year (see Gn7-8 where 5 months = 150 days = 30days/month and especially Rev 11:2-3 which says 42 months = 1,260 days = 3.5 years).
With all this in mind, the date1914 is truly a house built on sand.

Quovadis - where are you going

When Peter was running away from Persecution The Lord asked him "Where are going"..
Perhaps today The Lord is asking the Church and each of us "Where are you going...." 2000 years ago Jesus depended upon only 12 uneducated simple jewish men to spread his message throughout the world. Today in the Catholic Church we have so many lakhs of Priests and religious. But how far the mission work is going on. Church is primarily missionary by nature says The dogmatic constitution of the Church lumen Gentium. If Mission is the primary concern of the Church then what are we busy with in institutions, administration and social work.....

It is primarily a challenge to me personally and to every priest in the Catholic Church, how less is being done in sharing the Word to our brethren of other faith... as the Holy Father rightly pointed towards using the digital means in mission work, let us flood the media with this great message of salvation which Christ gives lavishly. so much of evil is online every second why not the Good news of the Lord.

The social networking is so often misused for wrong things, why not use it as means to share our faith experience. Therefore, dear fellow Christians venture in this modern means of communication, let not a day pass without sharing your faith with our friends around. St. Therese of Child Jesus, The patroness of mission pray for the enlightenment of our Christian folk to be zealous in sharing the Good news of Christ

Mother of God - Mother of all

Hi Friends,

It's again the Month of May, a month that reminds of the maternal call to repent and pray for sinners. Mary our loving mother always wants us to be people of prayer and penance so that we can overcome the power of the evil one. so, let us resolve that to pray the rosary more ardently and prayerfully. Let us all be covered by the loving mantle of Mother Mary. Hail Mary!!!
